Seba: A Researcher's First Handbook (2023, 302 pages).
Our book Seba: A Researcher’s First Handbook begins the elementary organization of these fundamentals—fundamentals as they are, not yet as they must be. Because this is a book for beginners, it can only point out what is being used in the field of research and briefly how to use it. In Seba, we establish research foundations for scientific thinking:
Seba establishes that an advanced research approach must be flexible and elastic in its collection, organization, analysis, and synthesis of ideas. One should never attempt to reduce the historical flow of reality to isolated facts selectively presented as isolated cases, linear constructs in a multi-dimensional, interactive hurricane of swirling human phenomena, or the usual made-up variables torn out of context and sprinkled with random excerpts—these are merely subjective constructs for mental juggling. To reduce theory and method to a list of examples, criticisms, definitions, concepts, and analogies is to reject the principle of objectivity and resort to speculative, eclecticism, and subjectivity.
The world is out there and is knowable. Having this understanding is significant in the development of science and its application to solving the fundamental problems facing African and other peoples. More importantly, this way of thinking is critical to regarding the problems we face as solvable. We can be in charge of our lives. History shows that those most committed, whether for good or bad, always win in the end. Commit to scientific research and clarity of action will be the result.
